Not so thrilled

What a day. Farrah Faucet and Michael Jackson - and let's not forget Ed McMann yesterday.

When I was a little girl in Michigan my then best friend Brandon used to call me Farrah - he loved Charlies Angels and Chips - I in no way resemble the beautiful star but my name does rhyme and that is what kids do. Every time I hear her name I think of my friendship with those on Barnswood Lane and wonderful memories flood my brain.
Michael Jackson was the first pop star I ever swooned over. My parents took my brother and I to his concert at Mile High Stadium - I think I was 12ish. It was our first ever concert - we sat in the nose bleeds - the acoustics stunk but the concert was unforgettable. Tonight I have fought back tears, resisted the urge to play his CD's full blast like a lovesick teen and watched all the news I can. I admit, I am sad.

Last night we took a group of people to see the Jonas Brothers, our girls have also seen Carrie Underwood, Hannah Montanna, Lone Star and Clint Black - I wonder though - will they ever see anyone that even compares to Michael Jackson?
Tonight that wonderful friend from Michigan, Brandon, is working in LA as an Elite Police Officer with the LA police - I am sure he is near all the happenings surrounding Michaels Death and I doubt he even remembers how often he called me Farah - but tonight I am thinking about all those days gone by...
In closing I will put my neck out on the line and say - I do believe Michael has finally found the peace he never had in life.

I was saddened when I learned of Farrah's death this afternoon while I was at work. Of course, it was not unexpected. But when I heard on the evening news that Michael Jackson had died, I was stunned. I actually said "WHAT?!" out loud. I was never a big Michael Jackson fan, but he was an icon of my generation. It seems unsettling that he (and Farrah) are both gone. Seems the end of my "youth". Very weird. Rest in Peace, Michael, Farrah and Ed.

It is insane...all these celebrity deaths so close together. Makes you think about how precious life is. It doesn't feel real to me yet...how can he be gone?

I was so sad to hear about Michael also. So many memories tied to his music. I am sad about what might happen to his children and agree he is finally at peace.

It was a really sad day in Hollywood. I was young enough I missed most of the MJ in his glory.. but I don't think we will see a musician like him in a long time!

I was stunned by Michael Jackson's death. He is just one year older than me, and I grew up playing the J5's 45's and dancing with my friends. I watched his rise to individual stardom, he was always the leader in the group so it was no surprise. My admiration of his music and talent remained strong, but I felt sad at the turmoil he had in his personal life.
Farrah and Michael in one day, Ed too, all will be missed

I mean, who didn't want to be able to do the Thriller dance, right? I still love 13 going on 30 when Jennifer Garner does it at the work after-party. It's a legend.

And yes, like you said, may be he'll find peace in the beyond.

I remember in third grade I played the Thriller album all the time, I carried my MJ glove and the Thriller book everywhere. I definitely will be listening to all my favorite MJ songs this weekend. Can't spot to you get enough, PYT, SHake your body onto the ground, ah the list goes one...

Not sure our kids will ever see an artist of that iconic status in their lifetime....

I know - it is sad. He didn't seem like a very happy person in this life.
