I have fond memories of throwing these boogers over the railing as a kid and watching them float to the ground over and over again. So when I saw them at a store I picked up a bag for the girls to have fun with (and they fit in Easter Eggs)
But they don't make them like they used to, at least not the ones I bought. When you unwind the string you are left with the plastic square, the little booger and the strings ALL ASSEMBLY required.
And assembly stinks, we all took a crack at it - even little miss Hailey (who didn't stand a chance in this war)
Lauren was the winner, she got one done - she tried it - it flopped to the ground so fast and the thingy never opened and they STUNK.
And yes I know what the thingy is and they have a name but remember google alerts could be watching and since I am TOTALLY BASHING these "can't fall to earth men" -
(PS, HI google alerts)

Bummer.
And you know what else is not the same?
Silly Putty.
It's not as silly or putty-ish.
Good old days.
Oh gosh I hear you. I refuse to buy my kids those, but my ex will buy similar items for my daughter and she wonders why Mommy won't buy such yucky things. I am a bad mom! LOL
Thank you for sharing this, we all need to keep Mama's up to date on what's what in the toy type world!
I remember those! But I do not think we ever had any. What a shame on the assemble - you can tell from the pictures she is trying desperately to get these little things to work.
Too funny on the google alert!
OK, I don't get the whole Google alerts. You can't say something negative?? Well, google is not going to like my post today, that is for sure!!
Good to know - I definitely remember these from my childhood - too bad they aren't so good the 2nd time around!
o my goodness.. loved those as a kid! Sammy got one of those exact same blue one in a birthday goody bag.. I got it put together and it did the same thing as Lauren's! boooo
I guess I haven't bought those in a while because I've never had to assemble them! That's weird and not worth it!
That stinks...
Oh, and I love then new name of your blog!!!
Never had those, never will, but what's up with Google Alerts? It's against the rules to speak the truth?
Fun new blog changes! Have a great weekend!
Boo got one in a goodie bag once and it was awful too. I never liked them as a kid, and really don't now.
I don't get the google alerts either. I think we've gotten those in goody bags. The kids throw them over the banister and instead of drifting down, they fall hard into the hardwood floors.
HAHA! Seems the kids always come home with one of those dippy things whenever we go to Chuck E Cheese. It gets dropped over the banister a few times (which as you found it DROPS not floats!!!) and then it goes in the garbage!!!
Boooooo! That stinks!
okay, I have no idea what they are... I feel like I totally missed out as a kid. you'll have to email what they are so I don't ever pick them up for LL
