HA! Even you aren't a good one I am still calling on you! I am hunting recipes that can be prepared ahead of time, bake in the oven for roughly 2 hours or in the crock pot most of the day...I have spent many an hour on the Internet and the problem is you never know what it really tastes like! So I figure...hit the blog - your friends must have a few recipes for you!
So...here's the gist...I need dinners for Dance nights this fall...I need to either be able to put them in the oven before we leave the house and have them done when we return (up to 2 hours later) or do the crock pot thing. Sounds easy enough right? Well, they also have to meet the family requirements, no fish, no rice, no nuts, no tomato or onion chunks (sauce or seasoning OK), no ricotta or blue cheese, - Hmmm I think that is it - oh wait...NO BONES.
We can do the basic lasagna, stuffed shells, beef stew, potato soup type things any thoughts? Post em in the comments or email me terra@temerson.com
THANKS!!!
(PS - I am NOT a good cook!!)

I have a couple for the crock pot (my best friend).
Bean Soup
1 lb dry navy beans (soaked in water overnight)
1 1/2 qts water
1 lb lean, boneless ham, cut into cubes
1 by leaf
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1/2 cup chopped celery leaves (from the heart of the stalk)
Drain beans and discard water. Combine all ingredients in the crock pot, cover with lid and cook on low for 8 hours. Serve with bread.
Chicken in a Pot
2 carrots, sliced
2 stalks of celery, cut into small pieces
1 whole chicken (3-4 lb) rinsed and cleaned
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 cup of water or chicken broth
1/2 tsp dried basil
Put carrots and celery in the bottom of your slow cooker. Add the whole chicken and top with spices and broth. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
I will send more as I think of them.
Kasey
Kasey, You rock! I forgot to add no BEANS to my list...Hailey and I love them Todd and Lauren wont touch them! But I will make this for Hailey and I for sure! T and L can just have campbels that night!!!
I tried something tonight that the kids liked. I browned chicken in oil and put it in the crock pot. Added a family size "Cream of Mushroom" soup, 3-4 dollops of sour cream and you may want to omit but I added Ro-Tel tomatoes. I served it over egg noodles but you could of course use any kind of pasta or rice. I was kind of like Stroganoff with chicken....good luck!
Mark does stuffed shells if you need a recipe.. just noticed you also said no rice, quess you'd have to go with pasta on that last one.
