March 20th 2003 (Wordless Wednesday Follow Up)

Yes, it was March 20th 2003 - 6 years ago almost to the day! and this is how the story goes...

First it rained and rained - for 24 hours it rained - the moisture was wonderful - the rain - not so much.

Then...while we were sleeping:

That rain turned over to snow (March is our snowiest month ya know - but remember this was 6 years ago we have not seen old man winter yet this year!)

We got SO much snow - in places it was taller than me! 5' 4"

and the men had to dig us out. The plows don't come around when we get blizzards only when we get an inch or two. So, we were stuck - litterally - we spent many hours trying to dig out high centered Tahoes (ours) and Hummers (neighbors) to no avail... so the guys decided to snowblow all the way out to the main road (about 1/2 mile) and YUP - KIM you were right - they ran out of gas and my poor little X5 suffered because of it!

When the city finally came through with the plows (4 days later) they made a GIANT mountain of snow in our cul-de-sac and we played in it for weeks! Below is Lauren - Age 3 - in front of the mountain -

Okay, first of all, I cannot believe how much snow you get out there. It makes my growing up in Chicago just seem lame.

And that picture of Lauren -- she's so little. :) Don't you feel like you blink and she was just little like that yesterday.

So, I was right?.... TOO FUNNY!!!
At first I didn't notice the siphon hose -- but then I was like, hmmmmm....

I love this series Terra -- I'll have to look through some of my pictures and see if I can come up with some "you tell the story" photos.

Hugs!

Ahhhh! That's where the gas was going! That was a great snow storm - 4 days of being delightfully stuck in the house! But it's all fun and games until someone runs out of Diet Pepsi.

Great Pictures. We were living in Fl. at the time and Mark's Dad emailed us quite a few pictures. That was a lotta snow.

I agree with Kim. I like the "you tell the story" posts. I think I might be a copy cat and try this one.

I love the picture of Lauren. Her hair looked kind of red. Did it have a red tint?

Wow Terra - that is a lot of snow! It reminds me of when I was growing up in Michigan. One year we had a huge snowstorm and the snow cam eup past the first floor windows. We were out of school for 2 weeks. I remember walking to the grocery store with a sled!

Have a super day!

XOXO
Jen
